I have Adobe Photoshop 7 and CS2, IrfanView, RAWPhotodesk, KUSO Exif viewer, and Opanda IExif programs. How do I save the metadata of a picture so that if I need I can write it back in there again? Can you import metadata back into a picture again?

Let's say I want to edit some things in Photoshop. It normally stips out the metadata of the lens type, etc along with some other data. So when I get done I want to put it back into the image again.

Possible?

Hi Vern,

I've never used it but I see that Opanda PowerExif boasts a "powerful import & export function". Is that the program you currently use?

I did quick search this morning which revealed ExifTool by Phil Harvey. Another one that I haven't tried but I've added it to my Bookmarks against the day when manual EXIF editing inPhotoshop CS2 isn't enough.

I have the Opand IExif viewer. I just recently downloaded a new program called PhotoME that does export and import of exif data. Haven't done much with it yet, as I just downloaded it. Found it from a link to a link, etc and former Exifer author recommeded it. It, too,like Exifer is German built http://www.photome.de/ So far looks good.
