I have heard the same arguments for years now going back to "Windows 3xx" when Microsoft introduced Windows 95 all the diehards said it was no good, the same with win98 and again with 98SE and then along came XP all the dinosaurs round here were about to commit suicide and then some years later we have "Vista" and they are all jumping in the river.
I have over the years run win3xx, win95, win98, win98SE, winXP, winXP SP2 and now Vista and I have never, ever had any problems with any of them.

Funny enough never hear things like this on a mac. Hmmm

and VISTA hahaha what a joke. Had it for a month, till it just imploded.

When I was playing games pretty much every day all day I was only using XP then I started doing more school work and found mac better then I went back to XP my god you really don't realise how shocking the OS really is.

What about windows ME haha that was like vistas sister

i just hope people dont have the same problem as i did becuae it sure is a pain!

I'd just like to make it plain that any posts I see in this or any other thread which are used to facilitate the theft of software will be deleted and the matter referred to Gordon for his consideration.

Thank you for your cooperation.

I'm with you on this one Bob.... it was what I was trying to imply about 4 posts back re: i have never had any trouble with my software because all my software is genuine.

I didn run into this problem with photoshop 5.0 as i given a pirated copy. But it wouldnt work then its was truly annoying to play with the software so i just unistalled it. I been obtaining genuine copies since that time, with such a program you dont want to get a copy it will sneak up on u in the long run. Just because a soft ware is "genuine" doesnt mean you will run into problems, i have run into serveral problems with several genuine software through my whole life, its not always that they work...

I've used Vista since it was in beta and I don't see what all the fuss is about. Funny how any problem on windows gets blown way out of proportion, I never see this happening to any other OS.

No OS is without flaws.

Back to the topic,

I had a few problems with my CS3 so I just decided to stick to CS2, most of the new features don't benefit me anyway. From what I know, CS3 is very sensitive to any traces of software previously installed on the computer.

Yes it is, that was my problem :). But i was oblidged to get CS3 if iwanted to edit my RAW images in PS, because on CS2 the only camera that would work would been the D40 and going back in time so to speak, my D40x .NEF files wouldnt open. Kinda fustrating because that the reason i take my images in RAW for

There is always the option of using Adobe DNG Converter and Camera Raw (Windows and Macintosh). If I need to use Photoshop CS2 I do initial post-processing using Canon's DPP program and then save back into RAW. I then use Adobe's DNG converter to convert the RAW files into DNG (which is another type of RAW file and a lot smaller than 16 bit TIFF fles) so that I can edit the image in Photoshop without losing bit depth and spatial resolution. It's a bit clunky but I only upgrade to every other new version of Photoshop and I'd rather spend the money saved on hardware.

Bob.

Yeah but i tried that but i wasnt satisfied at all with the colours that came out when i used DNG, plus its alot of extra work, and time consuming. I knw that there was that option but it just meed to be too much hassel for me.

I think all the PS moaners might be surprised to find there are alternatives out there.
