Hi,

can anybody tell me about dxo optics pro and adobe lightroom?

is it worth buying dxo optics pro to reduce noise in raw photo from eos 40d? Cause the auto iso in program mode from eos 40d use iso 400-800 and I see some noise in the picture.

what is the different between adobe photoshop cs3 and adobe photoshop lightroom? I have cs3, do I still need adobe photoshop lightroom for postprocessing? Or all the features of adobe photoshop lightroom are also in cs3?

Just to pick on one point here.... with the 40D in "P" Program mode you can alter the ISO setting to whatever you want

Yes, that's right. But if I'm using auto, the noise is recognizable. Is DXO Optics Pro good?

If you already have CS3 then you wouldn't Lightroom for post-processing. LR is mainly a database program for organising your photos but it can get minor adjustments done fairly quickly.

I've used DXO Optics for a trial period and whilst I felt that it was a more powerful program than LR, LR just felt more well-integrated to me.

There are trials available for both.

I have got CS3 and within CS3 there is CS3 Bridge which I use as the photo downloader and organiser the interface of Bridge looks very much like Lightroom so I would agree with grahamnp if you have CS3 you don't really need Lightroom.... unless you are made of money and have nothing else better to spend it on.
As for DXO, I cannot comment as I have not tried it...
