I shoot my photographs in RAW and convert them to JPEG via DPP.
I found that the quality setting 7 gives me a result i find okay and the file size is greatly reduced - on some pictures, apparently.

The other day i took this picture, and when i had converted it to JPEG I noticed the file size was 16MB.

In comparison my JPEGS, exported with same settings, normally end up between 2MB and 8MB.

Could anyone help me understand why?

Thanks in advance!

Lots of very fine detail will probably be the cause of this
