When shooting raw files and put them on the PC, I can put the cursor over the picture I get a pop up file that tells me everything about that picture for a few moments.

I convert those pictures into Jpeg in photoshop, now there's no file details of what the shutter speed etc.
And when shot in Jpeg in the camera again not much information only the basics.

1. (Raw file) Is the file with all that information accessible so I can use and store it separately
2. Does the Jpeg file just gets less information in the 1st place and it would be down to the manufacturer to install it in the program?

I'm using a Sony A580

Hi blindasabat,

So when you open the JPEG in PhotoShop and select File Info from the File menu are you saying that the Camera Data tab of the resulting dialog box doesn't hold any shooting information?

Bob.
