Post subject: Nikon Coolscan IV ED
PostPosted: Thu Mar 24, 2011 6:44 pm

I have a Nikon Coolscan IV film scanner I haven't used in a while but I received a slide film from the lab today and thought I'd scan a few into Photoshop CS2. I checked some of the mounted slides in my viewer and they appear to be good, however, the scanned images are terrible! The main problems are magenta cast, an overall lack of contrast and sharpness, basically unusable.

I've been through the settings, changed different things to no avail. The film is Kodak Elitechrome Extracolour. As I stated there's nothing wrong with the slides (I even tried some older slides). Any advice for starters? I had Digital Ice on and off, turned Curves/Colour Balance/LCH Editor/Unsharp Mask etc on and off. Set all to default etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.

PS: How do I upload example photos?
