Hi Guys, I've recently started to get to grips with Lightroom ; and have now switched from jpeg to shooting raw . The question I have is whether any of you have a default import setting you have for when you import your raw photos. Lightroom by default has sharpening at 25; radius 1;detail 25; and 0 masking.
Do people just experiment till they get something nice. I realise that for proper processing nothing can be done by default but by tweaking individualy; but does anyone do anything by default to all their photos when importing them . Any response would be very helpful . Cheers -Tom

My standard import applies a couple pretty simple adjustments:

+38 Vibrance
91 Sharpening
100 colour noise reduction
Defringe all edges

And then I just do my more-intense processing from there. Your mileage may vary, as some people may like more or less sharpening or whatever... Just play around with what you feel is an acceptable baseline and then go from there. Good luck!
