When I import raws from camera, LR doesn't generate previewes. Is there any option to make LR show previews before actually import the files ? I'd like to be able to chose what I'm importing.
Thanks,

Really? It does show previews when I import, and that's at default settings. Card contains RAW shots only.

I expected too to see the previews but I get only grey squares with text "preview unavailable"
I think I have messed up with some settings somwhere, checked preferences but nothing seemed to relate to the problem

What kind of files are you importing? It could be a RAW format that LR3 has not been updated to support yet. If it's your 50d, it should not be an issue.
