I am trying to use canon stitch to make a panorama of some pictures I have taken and the programme is asking me for the focal length (35mm equivalent) I am using a Canon EOS 1000D with 18-55 IS lens.
Can anyone pls help

The canon cameras have a crop factor of 1.6. This means that you have to multiply the actual focal length used by this crop factor to get the equivalent focal length.

For example if your shot was taken at 24mm, times this by 1.6 gives just over 38mm. Look at your exif data if your unsure of the focal lengths you used, it will say in there.

Also, im not sure how precise you need to be, Im sure there is a much more accurate conversion than 1.6. For example I know Nikon claim a crop factor of 1.5, but in fact it is 1.54, so a lot tighter than people think.

Shooting Date/Time 25/04/2010 13:44:24
Shooting Mode Manual Exposure
Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/200
Av( Aperture Value ) 10.0
Metering Mode Evaluative Metering
ISO Speed 100
Lens EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Focal Length 40.0 mm
Image Size 3888x2592
Image Quality RAW
Flash Off
White Balance Mode Daylight
AF Mode One-Shot AF
Picture Style Landscape
Sharpness 4
Contrast 0

This is the exif data i have so do I multiply the 40.0 mm?

I strongly recommend AcroPano Photo Stitcher
I really have no experience with anything else, and I rarely stitch.. so take that for what it's worth..
