I have my own domain and would like to create photo ablums to upload to my website.

I have photoshop and use the function in there to make a web gallery, but I wondered if there is something better out there you can buy off the shelf that creates really good web galleries which you can save to your PC then upload to your own domain area?

Any help gratefully received.

Al

I use Lightroom's web gallery, it works very well. I use it on my site. You can choose 5 viewers, some in flash, some in HTML. I used the flash Autoviewer, which you can see here for example:

Nice, yes I can use the Lightroom ones in Adobe Bridge.

Do you know if that compresses the images, I know it resizes them, but just wonder if there is any loss in the quality.

You can set the Jpeg compression yourself. I use 70% I think. (Limited bandwidth)

I am a big fan of JonDesign's SmoothGallery. However, it is not a one button press solution like exporting from Lightroom. You need to know a small amount of html to make it work.

It is implemented with Javascript, so it works everywhere (including the *gasp* iPad), and even if you don't have Javascript turned on, the images will still appear.
