 Post subject: Bibble 5 released

Over the new year, Bibble 5 was finally released!

Main selling points of this RAW converter (IMHO):
1) Fast RAW conversions. On my machine DXO takes about 60 seconds per image, Lightroom takes 10 seconds and Bibble take 2 - 3 seconds.
2) One license for 3 platforms. One pro license allows you to run Bibble on Windows, Mac and Linux. I use Windows and Linux regularly, with the intention of going Mac at some point so I see great value here.
3) Basic version of Noise Ninja included. Fairly good noise reduction out of the box.
4) Digital Asset Management a la Lightroom.
5) Selective adjustments. Similar to Lightroom, you have adjustment brushes. In addition to that, you get polygon selection and freehand regions.

Stuff that could be better:
1) RAW conversion is not that good. Similar to LR 2, not as good as RawTherapee and LR 3 when it comes to high ISO shots. The inclusion of Noise Ninja helps tremendously.
2) Some tools still missing. Red eye reduction, healing brush, ND gradient are missing. These are supposed to be on the way in v5.1.
3) Many plugins have yet to be updated. This should change over the coming months as the plugin authors release updates. Some of the key plugins I'm waiting for are the keystoning/perspective correction and film simulations.

It's well worth a try if you have some time to spare.
