Lally Cap is a cap which fits over the camera lens and is used to set white balance. the idea is to use it in place of a white card or grey card to set the custom white balance. it sounds useful. i'm in favour of anything that takes care of white balance/colour casts. i'm not good with colour corrections, etc., so i would like to avoid this part of the process.

has anyone used the Lally Cap? is it good for low light situations, ie indoors at a banquet hall, parties .... ? i've tried using a grey card in low light but with limited success. hopefully, the Lally Cap is better suited?

I've not used it, but I have tried some similar filters with a fair degree of success. To be honest though, these days I mostly take a reading from a piece of card, or in extreme situations, I've even done it in a restaurant using a white plate!
