Nikon have just released two new free programs, Nikon ViewNX and Nikon Transfer. They are designed to replace Picture Project. You can download them from the Nikon support website or from these direct links:

Nikon ViewNX: PC, MAC

Nikon Transfer: PC, MAC

Thanks Phil. Nikon's web site leaves a lot to be desired. They couldn't make it more difficult to find things if they tried - couldn't find this software anywhere on their site!

No problem :) I agree that Nikon's websites leave a lot to be desired. I couldn't link to the download page because it has such a long URL. I've just remembered the Tinyurl website so here are the links to the download pages:

Nikon ViewNX: PC, Mac
Nikon Transfer: PC, Mac

Thanks again Phil. I'll download them tonight. Have you run them yet & if so, are there any advantages over Picture Perfect

I have very briefly run them but prefer using Lightroom.

I have downloaded both, they are more structured and more intuitive setup than picture project and now that they are free, represent much better value than proprietary software that costs an arm and a leg, I am using them in conjunction with Capture NX and other than a suitable clone tool missing in Capture those 3 programs do all I need.
