We are thinking of replacing our PC with either an iMac or Mac Mini. What software works well with a Mac? I am thinking especially about working with RAW and re-touching.

I believe Lightroom is also for the mac, as well as photoshop. Aperture seems to be a good alternative to lightroom though.

All kind of soft work well with Mac, forget about PC troubles :-)
Buy the way, if you can wait few more months there will be a new iMac...

I'm sorry but that's plain bullshit. A mac simply cannot run PC software, and vice versa.
If you meant that there are plenty of alternatives for the mac though, I can only agree, but please, no biased fanboy-ism ;)

You can if you install Windows via Boot camp or Virtual Box/Parallels. Virtual Box and Boot camp have the added advantage of being free, all you'd need is a Windows license.

Alternatively, if you install Crossover Mac you don't even need a Windows install and can run many Windows apps natively.

Pgtips, I don't consider a windows install through bootcamp for this. After all, what's the point of buying a mac ;)

I don't know about you, but, having used crossover, I loved the concept, but most applications I liked did not work.

As Citrus said, you can get Adobe Lightroom 2 is available for the Mac but if I would personally recommend giving Aperture a go.

If money is no object, I'd say Photoshop. I currently use CS3 both at home and at work on both my Macs and CS4 has just recently been released. It does everything well, and Bridge is especially useful!

Yea I have crossover and it does not work very well. Most of the major programs will work for the Mac though, you should be fine with Adobe.
