I would like to enlarge that theme with something I noticed- sharpness has the same different appearing in ACR and DPP, even more, when use Adobe Camera Raw, pictures look sharp. After converting it to TIF they look more blurred than I saw it just a second before in ACR. Does somebody have explanation about that "phenomena"?
Yeah, the Adobe RAW converter isn't as good as your camera's. Use the software that comes with your brand of camera and you'll get the most detail possible. What I do is open up my RAW file in ViewNX and then convert it to a 16bit TIFF. Then I take it into Photoshop as a TIFF to edit. That way I keep the most detail possible.
