Just playing around with the new toys: Adobe Creative Suite 4. This package includes a programm called Bridge which seams like the multi media asset management part of CS4.
But you will be disappointed! Bridge does not extend the functionality you have with Lightroom 2 for photos to videos, illustrations, pdfs, sound-files etc. It doesn't even show thumbnails from all video-formats for you to easily identify the clip you want to view or work on in Premiere (like the Windows Media-Player does)
When importing video-clips it cannot structure the folder as LR2 can (no year/month/day structure; only yyyymmdd-file-names) and it cannot store tags in an independent database for all the material that you have: It either requires a .xmp side-car container (which does
not work with all files
) or can only store limited meta-data to some file-formats
So Bridge is seriously limited as a MAM-(media asset management-)system.
