Hi fellas!
I recently got the Canon SX10IS, which, unlike the Panasonic DMC FZ28, does produce some colour fringing in the JPGs. For some, this may not be a very serious matter of concern, but those who ARE concerned, I have a rather good news. I repeat, this is intended for those who are concerned, which means, they are not "pro" like the most of users in So, for those troubled minds, I have a few ameteurish but effective recommendations.
1) Don't lose heart. :)
2) Get Adobe Photoshop CS4 (older versions will do too) however you can.
3) Get Power Retouche Pro; however you can ;)

These are some tools which do work. You can remove Chromatic Aberration effects (purple/color fringing) from your photos almost *completely* using PRP. This app has many more cool stuff which you can use to make your snaps look like the work of a real professional with a pro-grade DSLR.
Photoshop CS4 is awesome in its own right.

The hue/saturation/lightness adjustment tool in photoshop can also remove the visible color fringing.

GET 'em!
