Go to Adobe's web site and download the latest camera raw file. When Elements 5 was shipped the XTi/400D was not around so you have to update your raw file just follow the instructions on screen and you will be fine.

What exactly do you mean when you say "...I cannot get images"?

I found this from my 350D. The computer would not reconise the RAW files but only when downloading through the supplied cable.

If I took the CF card out and put it in a card reader then my computer recongised them!!

No idea why but hope this helps.

No wusing Lightroom to import and process. Loving it.

Glenn :)
