I bought a Joby Gorillapod SLR Zoom today, and I love it! I haven't been able to test it allot, but it seems really sturdy and well built. I also bought a handmade German ballhead called FLM Centerball 24. I don't know anything about, ballheads, but this one seems quite nice.

This will be a joy to take some mountainbike shots in the forrest :D

only bad thing about ballheads are they are not good for panning at all, they wobble in all directions and getting a level shot can be tricky or time consuming

Sorry I didn't read your post until now as I went to Spain the day after making this thread Gordon, but here's three photos of the camera on the ballhead and gorrilapod. I used my cellphone, so quality is quite poor. The first two was taken on vacation in Spain 8)
