I am in the market for a new tripod, I don't want to spend more than £60 (117 USD, 80EUR) The current favourite is the aforementioned Sherpa 250R, my friend has one, I have used it and I think it is very sturdy and stable, and I am a big fan of the quick-release-quick shoe. Before I stick my hand in my pocket, I am asking for any recommendations now for any other brands or other Velbon models, so, any better ideas?

As I only received my first tripod today, I'd take my recommendation with a pinch of salt, but the Velbon CX540 has been brilliant to me so far =).
Very sturdy, light and fairly cheap too!

Hope this helps
