Hello all,

I'd like a dolly to try time lapse. I've been googling around and found a few systems such as dynamic perception (http://dynamicperception.com/) but are all quite pricey. My first question is are there any other motorised dolly systems which are reasonably prices (few hundred tops).

I wouldn't mind having a go at doing it myself. It seems relatively easy to create an unmotorised dolly where you can simply move it along by hand. LIkely just having a continuous motion with a motor doesn't seem impossible.

I am trying to figure out a way to have the motorised system stop while the picture it taken. So the process would be: fire, wait, move which is repeated continuously.

Does anyone have any thoughts how this could be achieved?

A cheap motorised dolly may require a bit of DIY, but an interesting effect (courtesy of my pal Scott Kennedy) is to pop the camera on an egg timer and let it rotate very slowly!
