Hi,

I'm looking to get a tripod as I want to get into shooting landscapes. However, I really can't justify spending any more than £100 on one at the moment as money is quite tight (and will be for the forseeable future!). Anyone got any good recommendations for something under £100?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Manfrotto 190xprob + basic manfrotto ball head comes to about £120 on amazon. If you could stretch to that, that'd be my suggestion.

I just bought the Velbon Sherpa 600R (Amazon says £71 at the moment) and I'm very happy with it. It's not the lightest one but the height ist good (170cm vs. 146cm on the Manfrotto 190xprob) and it's stable. It's coming with a head but you can change it if you wanted to do so in the future.

I decided to go for it after reading several reviews - probably one of the tripods with the best price-performance ratio. And it comes with a bag.

I haven't tested the Velbon, but I have used the Manfrotto 190 series and think they're great. If you can stretch to one, I'd go for it.

Warehousexpress in the UK are doing the Manfrotto 190XDB and 321RC2 head for £89. It doesn't have the centre column that flips sideways but I can always rotate orientation on the camera or PC. I can't justify spending more than that at the moment and so I have just ordered one. I'll let you know what I think.
