Finally got myself a tripod...at long last :)

Image
Exposure: 10 sec (10)
Aperture: f/14
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 100

I had a choice of 4 tripods...2 Manfrottos at about 200 pounds each or 2 Chinese brands....1 for 5 pounds or 1 for 25 pounds! I say they're Chinese brands, but it's brand in the loosest sense of the word as they have no brand name! Anyway, I tried out the 25 pounds one and found it to be fine and what I was expecting to get in a tripod. It's nice and light, folds down to a very compact size and fits into a little kind of rucksack. Most importantly, it's solid and stable and seems to hold the camera nice and steady at all angles. Just hope I don't end up regretting not getting a Manfrotto!

Went out for a trial run and here's the first evening's results:

Image
Exposure: 1 sec (1)
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 26 mm
ISO Speed: 100

Image
Exposure: 1 sec (1)
Aperture: f/4
Focal Length: 26 mm
ISO Speed: 100

Image
Exposure: 2.5 sec (5/2)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 22 mm
ISO Speed: 100

Image
Exposure: 10 sec (10)
Aperture: f/22
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 100

This was my first go using a tripod and I wasn't sure whether to use the night time preset or what speed to set shutter priority to so these are very experimental! Using a tripod is great though and I can see I'm going to be doing a lot of experimenting over the next few days :)
