I just purchased a Dynatran AT-858B-BL without head. I picked it up for $70 on eBay. Any opinions about Dynatran Tripods?

I don't have any experience with them, but this thread should get you started: :)

I have a Dynatran, cant remember which model it was, but I got it from ebay.

Its a very sturdy tripod and I am very please with it, however, if it is the model with the pistol grip I would advise unscrewing this head and throwing it in the bin. I did this and replaced it with my manfrotto ball head. I now have a very well made and sturdy tripod with a rock steady head for the fraction of the price of the equivalent manfrotto etc.

I just bought the Dynatran legs wihtout a head. I think I will get a Manfrotto head. It seems to me the most important part is the head. But to pay $125 for just the legs is a bit to much for a college student.
