Hi guys, After recently getting my 5d I've started to try taking some simple shots of the night sky. Setting my 17-40mm to its' infinity point on the focusing window gives a nice result but as the 5d classic doesn't have Live-view I can't simply zoom in on the screen and fine tune my focus. Instead of trial and error re focusing after shots my 60d has live view so my question is ...

Would the focus carry over if I set my focus on my 60D using live view then switch bodies not touching the focus ?

Being that the cropped sensor is taking its' image from the center of the lens does that mean that it would carry over being sharp on my 5d without tweaking it there ?
Many thanks for any replies.

It's an old post but because I happened to try it last Friday I thought I'd share knowledge. I tried it between Canon 40d and 7d with a 50mm 1.8 and the focus stayed the same (I was also shooting stars).
