and here's a very different approach. Much more muted processing of the nebulosity but the bright stars are now in colour:

Hi folks,

I've now added the fine structure detail, done my best to tame the haloes around some of the brighter outlying stars and cut back the intensity of the previously rather blue background. I think it's the best I can achieve with the current data:

      The Pleiades (M45)

5 x 200 seconds and 8 x 1,000 seconds in each of red, green and blue using my TEC 140 plus ML16803.

There's more detail in the faint background than I'm allowing to show through here. That's an aesthetic choice on my part. I hope you like the overall effect.
