
Still learning how best to use the EQ6. Test shot of Veil nebula with Canon 600D (unmodified) and 70-300L lens at 300mm f/5.6. Astronomik OIII 12nm filter. 7x 8m subs.
Compared to my previous shots using the 135L, you can feel the extra detail trying to come out, although it is still held back by the noise. e.g. I used to mainly use 2m at f/2, which is equivalent to 16m at f/5.6. Here I'm only going up to 8m. Things should really start rocking once I get the 300mm f/2.8 online. Just need something sturdy enough to hold it up!
Something I haven't seen before, but in the deep shadows I'm seeing horizontal banding, and also what might be glow at the bottom that wasn't quite removed by PixInsight DBE. This isn't helping me resist the lure of a CCD...
