Hi everyone,

The link will take you to an image of the Jellyfish nebula (IC443) region which lies on the Gemini/Orion border:

http://img231.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... inigy4.jpg

So far this is 4 hours 40 minutes of H-alpha using 20-minute subs, 3 hours 40 minutes of SII using 20-minute subs, and 3 hours of RGB using 10-minute subs. It needs more H-alpha, and maybe a little more RGB to be up to the usual Carboni/Parker standard - but with the weather we're getting here, this may not be until next year :(

Greg

Hi Greg, another great shot - and a nebula I wasn't familiar with...

Even for someone who's quite into astro work, I still find it mind-boggling the length and number of exposures required for this kind of result. The level of committment by dedicated astro-photographers is pretty amazing!

It's called obsession, or on a good day, extreme **** behaviour. Basically it's sad :)
