The Perseids may be wrapping up, but I'm there are some great shots out there. And, being of the mind that I'd love to see what they look like and what with having so many talented photographers posting on these boards...let's seem them!

I'll go first. I ended up with what felt like a lot of better shots of the milky way and star trails than pictures of the Perseids (despite going out with the intent of capturing the Perseids), but a few meteors showed up at least enough to pick them out. The photo below was taken at the Wild Horses National Monument overlooking the Columbia River in Washington. I felt like the bridge and the cars added a little structure compared to some I took facing the other direction, and the meteor itself (if you're having trouble picking it out) is up towards the top right.

By the by, this was one where I was really hoping you'd be able to see the shower, but it was not to be.

Nice shots, pandadumpster! I love the first one, however I personally find the bottom to be a little distracting. While it does add some structure, it's a little bright for my taste. The second is also a beautiful star trail shot, unfortunately without any visible meteors. Any way you look at the shots though, they're both excellent!

No shots from here, it was pretty cloudy. Anyone else got some shots?

Thanks guys. And I appreciate the feedback EvanK - I can see where you're coming from on the foreground.

And I'd still like to see is some photos from the other lurkers around here. WHERE ARE YOU HIDING FELLOW LURKERS?

Stunning shots!

I just need to get somewhere in the UK that doesn't suffer from such terrible light pollution and hope there's a clear sky!
