That kinda image is what got me to buy the Coronado Personal Solar Scope, about the cheapest non-sucky way to see that image yourself. However my attempts so far haven't been quite so good. Seeing is one thing, getting it on a sensor nicely is another and just today I've ordered a CCD imager which should help go towards that :)

BTW, the photo linked is a negative. A not unheard of technique to give it a bit more pop.

Alan's image are always world class. I've been following his works for years and I never came anywhere close to what he does. Truly impressive technique.
