Well, last night was the best night of the year so far for imaging grin01 Amazing seeing how grotty the whole day was with plenty of rain - but come 7:00 p.m. it all cleared up. What to do? Decided to go for quantity rather than quality and rattled off a bunch of single star images. Here's the first one - brilliant Bellatrix (top right hand corner of Orion from here in the UK) - 10 x 5-minute subs.

P.S. I was a bit worried about the "dark bits" both around Bellatrix and top right hand corner - but a quick check with "The Sky 6" shows that this is actually fine.

Very seasonal.

And a lovely image. I managed to capture the best part of 1GB of data last night. Clouds prevented me from getting started properly until 11 p.m. and I packed up at 5 this morning but at least the late start meant I didn't need a meridian flip. I aimed the Pentax lens at 5h 25m, +34° 30' and took some RGB and a lot of Hα. Short on sleep now and lots of chores to do so processing will have to wait a few days...

You have a great Christmas too Bob Wasn't last night fantastic? You were right about it turning clear - cleared up here around 7:00 p.m. I packed up at around 1:45 a.m. - could have gone on a LOT longer but didn't want to anger the weather Gods.
