Noel Carboni just processed this data taken a few days ago at the New Forest Observatory.

Image

It is the Whale and Hockey Stick (galaxies) region of Coma Berenices. Lower/far left are "The Mice" a tiny pair (at this image scale) of interacting galaxies.

Nice shot Greg - could you let us know the number, length and type of exposures, and instruments used? It's always good to have this info with all of your images! Thanks!

Sure Gordon - very naughty (lazy really) for me not to include.
This was 4-hours total exposure time using 10-minute subs on a Sky 90 refractor (with the reducer/corrector f#4.5) and a rather aging SXVF-M25C 6 Megapixel one-shot colour camera. Moon was up but not too intrusive.

While I'm at it - here's a shot from today at the New Forest Observatory. The old man wrestling with a cement mixer pouring the concrete pier support for the new mini-WASP observatory :D :D :D

Sorry - the above image is oriented incorrectly (you won't find the Mice on the left). In this correctly oriented image - you will :D
