Is it better to attach a scope directly to the camera body, or to the lens?

I'd like to try a few night sky-shots/moon, as well as birding/nature.

(Does anyone know where to find (UK) an adaptor for Nikon D7000 to enable me to attach to an Acuter spotting scope?)

I don't really know about scopes other than astronomical ones, but a quick google gave this page which gives a selection of connection options.

Oh, personally I prefer to connect a scope directly the camera without lens. In effect, the scope is a lens. Using both together gives massive magnification but I think it isn't so much fun quality wise.

Cheers popo. 8)

I've read a few articles about attaching scopes, some say to body only & others to the lens.
I wondered if anyone had experience of either....or better still both methods with comparisons.

Thanks again.
