Only a quick play tonight. I still haven't ordered the intervalometer yet. Doh! This is a 7 minute manual/bulb shot, which makes the 30 seconds I normally do seem totally pointless.

7 minute exposure, f/4, Sigma 150mm macro, ISO800. Single RAW via ACR. If it looks like it has the measles, that's because I didn't do a corresponding dark.

Ground was soft which probably didn't help my alignment, and this does show some trailing.

The "little blurry splodge"? :D

Let's see what else is on my to do list to improve image quality:
*stop down to help even the image field
*increase exposure time
*increase tracking accuracy - may involve gardening
*avoid neighbour's light cannon
*modify camera for astro use
*possibly look to narrowband imaging
*wait for some more clear skies

Never easy is it?...

I notice Orion is up at a sensible time now, although it's still low in the sky and even by naked eye its well in light pollution here.

Nice shot! I like M110 in the foreground! :)

Interesting to see you doing DS images with only long exposures, as opposed to many lights.

Quick one from tonight. Stack of 7 shots 3 minutes each, 150mm f/4 ISO400 on 450D. 2 darks.

As is always the way, a haze moved in and obliterated the contrast not long after I set up.

Not bad for a quick shoot. I can start to see some trailing on some stars, although it's relatively clear and crisp. Nice job once again! Keep the shots coming!
