Hi,
This night I got outside and shot for the 1st time with my EQ3-2 with motors.
I used the 135mm F/2,8 lens and my 350D, 1600 ISO, 30s and 8 Lights, with several Darks.
Here the result: http://picasaweb.google.com/r.j.deroos/ ... 3321024978

Nice one, Ruben! :D

it's nice to see what I can expect to get. My lens goes to 140mm (but it's slower, F/4.5 or so). I'll need to do probably 75-100 lights at 4-5 sec. each since I haven't got tracking.
I'll have to wait until much later in the year (or until early next year) to try for that one, though. It currently rises a bit late here, along with a lot of the other interesting stuff, and I've got a bit too much light pollution to the E to get a good shot.

I guess that I'll just be having the opportunity to practice on the Lagoon and Triffid Nebulae for a while yet...

Floyd.

A cracking start.

Depending on how accurately you have polar aligned you should be able to bump up the length of subs to around 1-2 mins each allowing greater detail to be picked out. Any longer than that and youll be going down the guiding route.

Thanks Lee, the nights here are ****** in weekends, but since it becomes earlier dark, I might go outside in the week. Not only in weekends.

Not wanting to wish away the last of the summer / autumn, but I cant wait until winter, it will be dark by the time I get home around 5:30-6 which means I can get my kit out and do several hours imaging without being up late into the early hours - yipeee
