I decided to go back to my last moon attempt and reprocessed it with Nebulosity and photomatix. This is the result

It was done with a Canon 40D connected to a Celestron C8 Schmidth-Cassegrain telescope @ prime focus. The setup was like this :

Canon 40D -- > T-mount -- > T-Thread adapter -- > Antares Focal Reducer F6.3 -- > Celestron C8.

I used a Focal Reducer because my telescope focal length is too long for the whole moon to fit in the Field of View. The C8 is mounted an GEM HEQ5 Pro mount.

I followed Gordon Laing dslrtips video techniques and used EOS Utility software remote live view capability and dial in my settings. I shot this ISO320, 1/250 shutter speed. It was the processed in Photomatix and Lightroom.
