Since the weather wasn't bad last night , I had some fun between the clouds and rains .

First picture is what I see when I look to the North-West and second is toward the South-East . As you can see , our light pollution isn't that bad
The Tarentula nebulae can be seen in the second pictures , at the bottom . And yes , it appears like that with the naked eye once you get used to the darkness .

You can even see some nebulosity around the stars in the pleiades!

Man, those take me back! I spent my honeymoon in French Polynesia - Moorea and Bora Bora. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL skies at night. Wish we got anywhere close to that many stars showing around here....but big cities aren't great for that

Anyway, great shots, very jealous

Yeah I guess we're lucky with our skies , but with the humidity and hotness of the climate , it's rare to get ideal seeing/turbulence to capture more serious pictures , especially in planetary .

On another note , the lights of Moorea can be seen in the 1st picture
