Hi all
Wanted to try this big lens on the moon tonight , and I'm quite impressed with the image quality delivered .

f/4 , iso 100 , 1/1000 , 600mm

That's a big lens, pretty much in the wide field telescope class. :shock:

Have you considered an equatorial tracking mount? You could get some very nice wide field images with it. :D

I do have one , but I just got the lens today and my astronomic gear is stationned at the observatory ( here ) , I intend to go there this week end if the weather is good , it's been overcasted for days now :?

Thx Adi :) You have no idea how hard it is to have a sharp photo without image stabilisation at this focal length , and manual focus doesn't help either . And this lens weights about 6 kg haha :)
