hey, im thinking about buying a used nikon d200 and was wondering what you all thought of its performance with star trails and such. thanks in advance

Hi Nilinds, I use a D200 for star trails and astro work. if you search my username you will find some examples that i have posted here.

The key with any startrail shooting is digital noise which can be overcome, to a certain extent, by the methods you choose when shooting.

Sure certain cameras perform better than others in this field but I can only comment on what I have as it relates to the original post. Im sure plenty others will chip in and fill in the blanks, but to get them started let us know a bit more about your interests and intentions with AP.
