I picked a region on the Morpho Rhetenor butterfly wing which had regions way above (physically) the background so that I would need to take a focus set of images with the microscope and let Helicon Focus loose on the result. Then to top it all Noel Carboni ran his Fractal Sharpening application on the data, result below:
