what about the focal length and the shutter speed
while shooting the moon
how could we set the setting of the camera in order to shoot a moon
i mean do i have to use manal mode in canon 450 D
and what about the shutter speed and aperture
and the ISO speed

I've moved your post into the "Technical and scientific photography" forum as the question isn't really Canon specific.

Have a look through the threads here and I think you'll find many examples giving you the information you need.

You don't have to use manual, but I find it easier that way as it helps control the variables.

the above tells you the ideal settings, although obviously its with a tripod.

I usually have to slap a high speed shutter on.
