Vatos Racing’s inaugural race on August 17, 2012 at the Paju Speedpark (about an hour and half drive out of Seoul, South Korea). Peter Cull, Patrick Miles, Eugene Blake, and James Hillier donned Vatos Racing’s colors and competed in KSEF’s grueling 5 hour endurance race in 100+ degree F or 35+ degree C heat. Despite being plagued by several mechanical failures and competing against professional riders, Vatos Racing triumphantly completed the endurance race in 6th place out of 32.

Photography Details: As the title says this was my first time photographing a race but I am really pleased with the results. After I posted the photos on my blog, a local journalist contacted me because he wants to use my photos in a magazine article Anyhow, I used a D300 with the 70-200mm f2.8G II for the shots below. Yeah, this endurance race was on small track so I was able to stand just about anywhere I wanted as long as it wasn't on the track itself lol. The team raced at the official F1 track in Korea the following weak but I had to photograph a student charity concert that my employer was sponsoring. I really wanted to shot a big time track too hehe.
