A perfect winter’s day for the Gold Coast Marathon, 42km (26 mile) run mostly along the beach sides. This was around the half way point where I was hoping to capture the start of some strain and pain on the runners.

The Japanese 2nd and 3rd females where hidden among the guys and I could not get their shot. Yes the trees do lean like that but the shadows were horrible. Still a good shoot for me.

Eventual winner #3 Ethiopia, 2nd #7 Kenya, 3rd #6 Kenya

Eventual female winner #54 Japan. 2nd and 3rd were also Japanese.

I caught this guy 3 years in a row, this is his 174th marathon and he just completed this one in the nick of time before the cut off time with 11 seconds to spare

Cheers

Thanks Max, the last one is the guy who run 174 marathons, he's a uni profess down your way in Melbourne, I moved the text to ensure no confusion. I also caught the Japanese guy last year with similar expressions.

Cheers
