I have been asked to photograph a college football game and I just wanted to know what lens is the choice lens to use but then what lens is the least distance you can get away with.... I have a Canon 60D and a Canon Ti2...wanted to get your input on what it would take to do this job.
Thanks!

Generally speaking, something in the 100-300mm range should do. For more specifics, there are many Field of View Calculators on the web.

To me, the more important question is: will this be a day or night game?

And why all the bold? - Mark

don't hold back - 400mm f2.8 will do the trick!
