Can you suggest any different methods or angles i should try? and can you tell me what you like and dislike about the photos?

They are slightly blurred, I would suggest a faster shutter speed. Unless this was the effect you wanted to achieve. Have you tried off camera flash?

hey, Ye I didn't set dynamic focus for the 1st and 3rd one, just forgot :S i only use flash for the 3rd one to get the object to stand out more.

Took this one today using Gordon Laing's tutorial @ dslrtips.com.

Turned out quite well!

I also take a lot of downhill/free ride photos. feel free to check my flickr to see them.

I would definitely increase the shutter speed to get rid of some of the motion blur. the first one is very underexposed.

play around with it, work with changing the composition all the time. you dont need a big step-down, or a massive drift to make a good mtb photo
