Camera Labs

Hey guys,

My brother somehow managed to drag me to one of his recent paintball practices to take some pictures. It was alot of fun, pretty difficult, and I learned alot of stuff. My gear somehow managed to survive the rain, paintball impacts, and the dust, but I had to use my old cheapo Nikon 70-300G lens, so the quality isn't all that good

Anyways, here are some edited pictures. I'll try to get some more up tomorrow, as I took 300 some.











My inspiration was this guy:

He is the best photographer in the business, and I tried to imitate his composition/framing, and everything else. I hope to be able to take some more pictures of paintball in the future, it is extremely fun and challenging.

Hi Eric D,

nice shots!! I can see the inspiration in style from that Jack Palombo guy. You did well in trying to get that sense of "grit in your teeth" in the images. You might, if possible, try with either some closer framing or some cropping to get the full-figure in action feel.

I like those mirrored goggles..very..Halo..lol.

I'm not to sure how Jack Polambo manages to get the ground and the whole body in the frame, but it still seems to be cropped closely... Here is an example:

Some pretty nice shots.I love the helmet one.It would be nice to see one of the paintballs as it comes out of the barrel though.I will try this someday.Thanks for sharing.

I like the helmet one and especially the last one. I'd like to see some extreme high pass filter on that to make it even more dramatic

What is an extreme high pass filter, if you don't mind me asking? I've never heard of that before.

And next time I go out to shoot I'll have my 70-200


EDIT: And it is extremely difficult to get good timing, of say, a paintball coming out of the barrel, or the perfect moment when the paintball hits someone.

These are pretty good pictures. Ive always wanted to take some action shots like this. Nice Job
