Hi,

Any recommended settings/tips for a newbie photographing a football game? (other than using the sports mode...)

I'll be using a D60 and 70-300. The game will be played during the evening, so lights will be used at the stadium.

Honestly your equipment might not sufficient to take great pictures.

If I'm in your position, I'll set ISO 1600, then Aperture priority (A mode) and set to the biggest aperture to let in more light, for example f/3.5

Good luck!

Also most lenses struggle to focus fast in low light so you could prefocus on a spot you know that they are going to be. Once you begin to feel more comfortable with your camera you can try shooting in manual mode and select the lowest f stop and a shutter speed of 1/320 or so. If you can't quite get fast enough shutter speeds you could try panning shots.

What soccer related activities is there to do in Los Angeles? I'm doing a Spanish project and I have to do a research project on soccer in Los Angeles. If there are any national tournaments or soccer clubs or whatever! I just need anything soccer for L.A. If you happen to find anything on the internet or in a book. Please, somewhere in your answer or source, put the site or name of book. I really appreciate it.
