Here are a few from Saturday and Sunday at the Grand Prix - plenty to process, but not enough time yet:

Only another 900 to look through (!) - a very high %age of keepers, even panning with the 'slow focussing' 85mm Cream Machine

Great pictures! Do please share some more when you've looked through them.

The picture of Petrov is very cool, i love how you can see the front tire is locked.

I'm not familiar with this track, but can you get close to that tunnel at the end of the pit? The noise down there must be terrifying.

Great! Looking forwards to more :D
F1 cars always look great, but even more so under the floodlights! The Petrov shot is indeed very cool 8) How was photographing under the floodlights? How dark/bright is it?

Thanks janern.

For the shots accelerating over the finish line I was shooting at around 1/500th to 1/640th second with auto ISO. At dusk, and before the floodlights overpowered the ambient light, that meant getting up to ISO4000-5000 to maintain shutter speeds.

Once it got darker, the shots going into turn 1 were shot at around 1/400th second with suto ISO shooting at around ISO400-640.

Didn't know the 85mm 1.4D could focus and lock this fast (I guess your panning technique is excellent) although I've seen the lens working on a D3 and D600. :D
