Hi,

I just bought Canon 400D and I am new to SLR World. I was trying to take some pictures in Auto Focus mode. My camera pop up flash blinks while focusing at low light some time. It was not the case when I was using my old point and shoot sony camera. Can anybody tell me is there anything wrong in my camera.

Thanks,
Nandeesh

Hi Nandeesh, welcome to the Cameralabs forums.

Don't worry about the flickering flash on your 400D - it may be slightly disconcerting, but there's nothing wrong with it!

The 400D flickers its flash to help with auto-focusing in dark conditions. It can also be used by the camera to reduce the effect of red-eye and to judge the power required for a final flash.
