I am not sure where to put this topic so i put it here.

I am looking forward to the Canon 70D to be announced next week Friday 22nd March 2013, from what I saw in early rumors that camera shud have a 22mp sensor, 19point AF 25600ISOand a DIGI5+ CPU.

The new Canon 700D in a recent rumor wont have any MAJOR senor processing not AF upgrades, I already planed on the T4i and the T5i on release should push the price of the T4i down to make it easier for me to buy.

Nikon has announced the Nikon D7100 which I and some may think is the rival to Canon 70D, I would serious consider buying either one of those cams though its more likely to be the 70d if the price at the time is right!

The canon 7D mark 2 may be announce late march or sometime april and maybe 700d.

What do you people think?

My 7D, 5D, and 1D Mark II N cameras are doing quite well. My 40D is still useful, though relegated to reserve status most of the time. The Nikon D7100's impending release has lowered the prices on the D7000, to the point that I might acquire one of them, new or refurbished, to take advantage of the tremendous value for my dollar. (My wife uses a D7000, and I have an F6; we are a dual-brand household.) If/when I upgrade along the Canon path, with a new purchase, I am looking toward the 5D Mark III and even the 1D X, but there is no hurry, as my working pair of 7D ameras suffice for my job, and I love the files rendered by the 5D when I photograph people and our dogs.

I would certainly be interested in reading about a 7D Mark II, when it is finally announced. Whether it would be enough to tempt me away from full-frame remains to be seen.

Canon lens rumors, generally, do not excite me. If weather-sealed II versions of the 35L and 135L were to be actually announced, then I would certainly consider upgrading. I am considering several EF lenses, but they are existing lenses, not rumored ones. I am tempted by UWA and 70-200mm lenses, with the latter more likely to be useful more often.

We all look for better, if the new product will offer something significant enough to overcome the pain of paying for it! The 70D and 7D2 will both be watched closely as a hint of direction Canon are taking, as are more recent rumours of even smaller DSLR bodies.

Nikon are also interesting to watch. I'd have to say they're more interesting to see where body evolution will go, but they seem to be more risk adverse and less likely to be revolutionary.

I am more interested in seeing what lenses are coming out, would like to see the 100-400L upgraded.

Not likely to upgrade body in the next two years, 7D still more capable than me. Love it for action, sports , bird stuff.
But would like something, easy to carry around, with a big sensor in a small package and large aperture with good focusing system. Something to stop me having to swap lenses for landscape shots and indoor/ portrait stuff. Need to work out from the available option, ie 6D or a second crop sensor or one of the mirrorless systems .

if new efs lenses for canon are to be announced soon they will likely be announce in the northern hemisphere fall season, about august september this year 2013.

my delema is that if I like and want the canon 70d and what ever new efs lens that replaces the 15-85mm (which i hope has a f3.5-4 or constant f4) for the right price then I postpone buying the camera till next year, I live in Trinidad and Tobago and the only way I will get a camera without paying tax and duty at customs is to ship it to my bro in the states so he can bring it down in september.

If I decide to buy the 70d and postpone my purchase i may have to wait a long time before returns to Trinidad and Tobago again.
I may decide to buy the 70d with an appropriate lens by December while waiting for my real lens.

If I dont buy the 70d by default i buy the canon 650d and the efs15-85, after a lot of research i stick to that entry level DSLR!

Keeping on topic with new cameras my first full frame when I get a bigger income will not be the canon 5d mark 3 or the nikon d800 or anything less, it will be what ever canon brings out 2014 and as its rumored that cam shud have about 40megapixel sensor, and that is reason enough to make that my first full frame DSLR.

As time passes we will see more, though i dont expect any real info until the end of this year!
